The Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced an all program Express Entry draw #170 on 23rd December 2020, encompassing candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
Express Entry Draw #170 issued 5,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 468. A decrease of 1 point compared to the previous round held on December 9th, 2020. The large draw today brings the number of ITAs issued this year to 107,350, a record-high number of invitations. This signifies that despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada is committing to immigration by continuing to select skilled workers for permanent residence.
IRCC applied its tie-breaking rule with the timestamp of June 4, 2020 at 13:39:44 UTC. This means that if more than one eligible candidate had the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date and time received invitations.
