September 24, 2020

The provincial government of Nova Scotia has invited eligible candidates to apply for the provincial nomination program on the latest draw which was released on September 24, 2020.

The automotive industry workers were invited to apply for the provincial nomination from Nova Scotia. These workers had their profiles in the Express Entry system.

Nova Scotia Nominee Program

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) has released the selection criteria for this program, but the number of invitations has not been defined yet.

Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities Stream

This stream invited the candidates to fill the labour shortages in Nova Scotia. This was the first PNP draw since May.

Eligibility:

The candidates were required to have their primary occupations from the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes:

  • NOC 7322: Motor vehicle body repairs
  • NOC 7321): Automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics and mechanical repairers

Work Experience: The candidates were required to prove their work experience. The work experience must be of 2-3 years, for the full-time, part-time equivalent. The applicants must possess their work experience in the related industry, and their work experience should be within 5 years.

The invited applicants need to show they have over two years’ experience in the above fields within the past five years prior to the application.

Their Canadian Language Benchmark (Writing, Speaking, reading, and listening) has to be more than five in all abilities of the English Language.

They also have to include language test copies and education evidence in their provincial nomination application. The evidence of education should feature the Educational Credential Assessment report from an institution approved by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) if you acquired your credentials from outside Canada.

In the application, you also need to hold certification from a post-secondary school program that takes two or more years such as trade school, university, and college.

Are you an invited candidate? Ensure you submit your application for the Canadian permanent residence.

Express Entry candidates invited

In order to be considered for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia through the Labour Market Priorities Stream, candidates first need to have a profile in the Express Entry system.

If they receive the provincial nomination from Nova Scotia, they will automatically be awarded an additional 600 CRS points, which will effectively guarantee that they will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
