Ontario Express Entry Draw invites candidates with CRS 400

Ontario has invited 758 candidates through the Express Entry Skilled Trades stream with CRS scores between 400 and 436. This marks the largest Skilled Trades draw in Ontario’s history.

NOIs issued in 2020 to date

  • Human Capital Priorities Stream – 2,842
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream – 692
  • Skilled Trades Stream – 948

The province is contacting the selected candidates who received the Notifications of Interest (NOIs) on June 17, 2020. The OINP selected candidates with work experience in the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes:

  • Structural metal and plate work fabricators and fitters (NOC 7235)
  • Ironworkers (NOC 7236)
  • Electricians (NOC 7235)
  • Electrical power line and cable workers (NOC 7244)
  • Steamfitters, pipefitters and sprinkler system installers (NOC 7252)
  • Carpenters (NOC 7271)
  • Concrete finishers (NOC 7282)
  • Roofers (NOC 7291)
  • Contractors and supervisors, heavy equipment operator crews (NOC 7302)
  • Heavy-duty equipment mechanics (NOC 7312)
  • Refrigeration and AC mechanics (NOC 7313)
  • Machine fitters (NOC 7316)
  • Elevator constructors and mechanics (NOC 7381)
  • Crane operators (NOC 7371)

A total of 948 Skilled Trades Stream candidates have been invited by the OINP so far this year. One similar draw was held in April targeting specific trades occupations.

These invited candidates will be contacted by the OINP. They have 45 days to apply online for their provincial nomination.

Ontario’s allocation for 2020 is 7,600 principal applicants over the course of the year. This includes 250 nominations for temporary workers in intermediate skilled occupations or National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill level C.
