Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) sent the invitations to candidates in the following categories:
- Express Entry
- Occupations In-Demand
The SINP has invited 2,740 Occupations In-Demand candidates so far this year. Combined with the 2,245 candidates invited to apply for a provincial nomination through the Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category, the total number of invitations issued in 2020 is now just under 5,000.
The requirement of Expression of Interest
The candidates are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile along with the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). The SINP uses an Expression of Interest system to invite the immigrants to apply for the provincial nomination. The concerned candidates are required to create an EOI profile. In this, they have to prove their intent to live and settle in Saskatchewan. They also have to demonstrate their work experience, age, education, language proficiency, and their ties in the province. By assessing the following factors, the SINP designates the candidates with a score out of 100 on the International Skilled Worker Points Assessments Grid.
The candidates who have the highest scores in the gird, they are issued an invitation in which they have to apply for the provincial nomination in the province to get Canadian permanent residence. In this draw of September 24, the minimum required score was 82 for both subcategories, under the SINP. The candidates were not required to have a job offer, but they were required to have at least one year of skilled work experience.
Express Entry sub-category
In the September 24’s invitation phase, Saskatchewan issued invitations to the 278 candidates. Those applicants had profiles in the federal Express Entry pool. The Saskatchewan’s Express Entry is linked with the federal Express Entry portal. This federal Express Entry system manages the three main immigration categories. Those categories are:
- Federal Skilled Worker Class
- Federal Skilled Trades Class
- Canadian Experience Class
Occupations In-Demand sub-category
Those immigration candidates who do not have a profile in the federal Express Entry system, they can apply in the Occupations IN-Demand subcategory, this category is open for them. A total of 257 candidates of the Occupations In-Demand category were invited to apply for the provincial nomination. Similar to the score of the Express Entry sub-category, the candidates have required the provincial score of 82. This draw issued the invitations to 81 candidates, who had their occupation in demand in Saskatchewan, the primary occupations include senior managers, sales representatives, and machine operators.
